Nurtural Bitless Bridle:

There has been a lot of chat lateley about the bitless bridle. While at the Royal Winter Fair, RMSJ management was given a few of the Bitless Bridles to try on one of our horses that is normally ridden in a hackamore. We are anxious to see how it works. Visit their website and see if you have a horse that may benefit from their patented bridle design.

2009 Santa Clause Classic: (Ride for a Cure) Dec 4-6

Rocky Mountain Show Jumping is pleased to announce that the Prize List, Entry Forms, and Schedules for the 2009 Santa Clause Classic were posted to our website a few days ago! The Santa Clause Classic brings to a conclusion all of the events held this year at Anderson Ranch.

The RMSJ management would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who attended any of our events this year, and therefore helped contribute to their success.

As a way to give back to the community, RMSJ is pleased to announce that the Santa Clause Classic will once again raise funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. Proceeds from competitions, silent auction items, 50/50 draws will all contribute to the cause. We hope to present a cheque to the society in excess of $15,000 on the last day of the tournament, and beat our donation of 2008. With your help, we can do it!

Don't forget, that the Santa Clause Classic plays host to the double points final in the 2009 RMSJ & Willow Grove Developing Riders Tour. Gold, Silver, & Bronze medals will be awarded their medals on the podium following each division. All potential medalists remember, participation in the finals is a must to be awarded a medal.

2009 Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament:

We often like to showcase other events that we visit from time to time in our travels, and this past October, management of RMSJ had the opportunity to travel to and compete in the 2009 Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament in Syracuse New York.

The Syracuse Invitational celebrated its 7th year in 2009, and it is great to see what the management team has done in so few years in building an event that is truly international in nature. Helped by the fact than the 126 year old National Horse Show is now being held in conjunction with the Syracuse Invitational, it is easy to see how this tournament is going to enjoy successes for many years to come.

Held in downtown Syracuse at the OnCenter, the event is held over six days with performances by hunters, jumpers and equitation riders from around North America and Europe. State of the art footing supplied by TravelRight Surfaces is used both the monster sized warm up ring as well as the main ring.

The prestigious ASPCA Maclay medal finals is a must see event featuring 150 of the nation's best equitation riders. This year, the Maclay medal was won by Santa Monica, California's Zazou Hoffman.(article)

The feature events in the International Jumper division were the $50,000 Animal Planet Sporthorse Cup, and the last ever $100,000 Budweiser World Cup, both won by Darragh Kenny of Ireland. (see story)

Browse through their website, and click on a few of the following videos to get a feel for this awesome Show Jumping tournament that has been developed over the past seven years by a very hard working management team. Keep up the great work guys!

RMSJ & Anderson Ranch Facility Update & Exhibitor Survey:

As most of you are aware, we are in the midst of an ongoing project of developing Anderson Ranch into a beautiful and everlasting tournament venue for the enjoyment of equine enthusiasts from around the corner or around the globe. If this facility is going to be for the use of "everyone", we have to take input from "everyone."

By now, most of you who attended our outdoor tournaments in 2009 have received your thank you note from the management of RMSJ. It really has to be stressed, that none of our facility improvements could be done without the support of our exhibitors, so again, Thank You!

Included in the card was a link to a survey that we posted that allowed our competititors the forum to share their thoughts and tell us how we are performing our job of building the facility. If you haven’t taken the survey, please take the time to do so, as your opinion matters to us. If you have, feel free to browse the results of the survey by accessing the link. (Note that all responses are not shared with anyone, and the online survey results posted are just the graphs of the data without the text comments)

Thank you for all of your comments and ideas, we appreciate them very much! We are also very happy to see that the vast majority of our exhibitors are pleased with the job we are doing to make the facility, and the tournaments better all of the time.

Having said all of that, you will be pleased to know that although the 2009 tournament season has drawn to a close, management has been diligently working on development projects for the seasons to come.

Firstly, we have built three new manure recepticles to clean up the new stabling area. 2009 was the first year with our four new stabling barns. Having completed the buildings shortly before our first tournament, along with some struggles with mother nature, we were unable to complete the manure holders in time for this years events. Rest assured, the project has been completed, although more paving will be necessary in the spring. These manure recepticles will tidy up the barn area for everyone, and make it that much more user friendly for all. We also planted numerous trees back in the barn area for everyones enjoyment.

Have a look at the work thus far!

Secondly, With all of your comments and suggestions we are pleased to announce the addition of two new competition rings. Work began just a month ago on the construction of two new all weather footing rings south of the two main grass rings on the property. There will be a very large schooling ring (125' by 210') as well as a substantially larger tournament ring (180' by 290') located right beside the warm up ring.

This new warm up and show ring will help us with the substantial growth that we are seeing at our events, as well as help us to maintain our grass rings, especially our top grass ring that was seeing a huge number of horses compete every day.

These rings were a huge project, as we needed well over 2 feet of clay for a base over the entire area, before we even began to truck in the gravel and limestone. Over 1000 dumptruck loads of clay were carved out of the farm across the road and trucked to the new resting place....your new competition rings. The project should be completed in the early spring just in time for the 2010 outdoor season.

Have a look at the work on the rings thus far!

As always, we welcome your comments at all times....please...let us know what you think!
