Rocky Mountain Jump Off:

RMSJ is pleased to announce the Rocky Mountain Jump Off, a mini TV Series aired weekly on Shaw Direct. The management of RMSJ is dedicated to the further development of the sport in many ways. . The Rocky Mountain Jump Off is a weekly series that began airing a few months ago, and will continue throughout the summer months here at Anderson Ranch.

Each episode is about a 2 1/2 minute clip on a wide range of topics, and will air each week and run about 60 times each week. The purpose of the series is to provide continuing education to the public and increase the awareness of our great sport. It is our hope with this series to entice even more of Canada's youth to get involved with the sport and thereby develop yet another generation of riders for our country.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the folks at Shaw for their great work in the series, as well as all of the local personalities in our sport for their participation. Make sure you catch some of these episodes on shaw, or check our website HERE on our video pages from time to time for the updated links to each episode. 2010 Bow Valley Classics Information Update:

Week one of the 2010 Bow Valley Classics ended this past Sunday in record breaking fashion. With beautiful sun drenched days, Mother Nature helped us reward the 458 horses and competitors that joined us for the action packed week.

Two new rings were completed literally moments before the first horse entered on Wednesday morning. The feedback on the FootingFirst blend for the new warm up and competition rings was awesome. With over 300 trips each day, it held up great. It did loosen somewhat during the later part of the day, but this is a simple fix, once the state of the art irrigation system is installed upon completion of Bow Valley Classic II.

The Jockey Club was a welcome hit with all of the trainers, and provided them with a comfortable place to relax when they had a chance to take 15 minutes out of their busy day. It's only going to get better, as wireless internet has been installed just moments ago, and for the upcoming tournaments, live video feed from all of the rings, keeping competitors and trainers in the Club up to speed while taking their well deserved break.

The management team here at RMSJ wishes to thank everyone for their excitement and words of support for our efforts over the past year to significantly improve our facility to the standards that you have come to expect from us over the years. We will continue to work extra hard this year to deliver you some of the items that we have started to promise you, with the ultimate goal of becoming a show venue that exhibitors from around the province can enjoy all year round. As you know, our team's love of the sport comes before anything, and we are glad that we are making you, our customers, happy. Again, please note that none of the things that we are doing at the ranch would be possible without all of your support.

It was great to see the level of competition this week for all of the divisions at the tournament, and would like to congratulate all of the champions in every division, and the following list of competitors who took home top spot in some of the feature events:

Gail Greenough is Turning the big 50!

Well it happens to everyone, and on Saturday May 22, 2009, the management of RMSJ will be pleased in taking some time to honor and recognize one of Alberta's finest riders, a great trainer, not to mention a great supporter of the local equine community Gail Greenough.

Gail already turned 50 this year, and in her honor, the feature event at the second Bow Valley Classic will be titled "The $25,000.00 Gail Turns 50 Grand Prix" Join us for the festivities on Saturday May 22 in the VIP tent to enjoy Grand Prix Show Jumping, as well as have a visit with Gail and her friends.

The picture to the right, is of Gail and her fabulous horse Mr.T, who in 1986 made all of Canada proud when she became the first woman in history to ever win the World Equestrian Games in Aachen Germany.

In this the WEG year 2010, 24 years later, that record still stands.

Make sure you get your tickets upon your arrival at the Bow Valley Classic!
