For Immediate Release Contact: RMSJ Rocky Mountain Show Jumping Joins the International Family of Competitions Calgary, Alberta - The Management of Rocky Mountain Show Jumping is pleased at this time to announce that two of the 2010 tournaments will be CSI 2* sanctioned by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). Both the Rocky Mountain Classic I (Aug 18-22) and Classic II (Aug 25-29) will be CSI 2* sanctioned. This marks the first time that Rocky Mountain Show Jumping will host FEI-sanctioned competition. Both weeks of competition will feature a $50,000 Grand Prix held on Saturday. In addition to prize money, competitors in the CSI2* events will also gain valuable points towards the FEI Rolex World Rider Rankings. We are ecstatic to join the international scene and to be able to offer FEI-sanctioned events to our competitors. Bringing more FEI-sanctioned competition to western Canada will help our riders to further advance and gain recognition internationally. In today’s increasingly competitive environment, the opportunity to compete under FEI rules and earn points towards the world rankings is a huge incentive for riders. We have been working hard to develop our facility over the past decade, and the time has come to raise the bar and take things to the next level by hosting international FEI competitions. Upgrading our events to CSI status will allow us to continue to grow and increase our profile internationally, which can only help us to develop further in the future. Rocky Mountain Show Jumping hosts its tournaments at Anderson Ranch in Calgary’s south end, a world-class facility featuring permanent stabling for 300 horses with a main competition grass grand prix field complete with natural obstacles For more information on Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, visit www.rmshowjumping.com. |
